Prices soar (+9.90%) this May in Southwest Calgary
Southwest Calgary saw the biggest price jump this May, with furnished one-bedroom units climbing (+9.90%), the highest increase among all city quadrants. Meanwhile, Calgary City Centre posted the only decline in furnished one-bedroom unit prices at (-0.22%). For unfurnished one-bedrooms, Southeast Calgary had the most significant increase in prices at (+2.02%), while the Northeast saw the sharpest drop at (-5.06%).
Diverging trends in Calgary and Edmonton
In Edmonton, average monthly rent for furnished one-bedroom units dropped by (-4.56%) to $1,421, while unfurnished units saw a slight rise of (+1.44%) to $1,318/month. The opposite trend played out in Calgary, where furnished one-bedrooms rose by (+7.05%) to $1,736, and unfurnished units dipped by (-0.83%) to $1,532/month.
