Diverging rental trends in Calgary & Edmonton this June
In Calgary, the average monthly rent for an unfurnished one-bedroom unit has increased by (+0.37%) to $1,537/month. Prices for furnished, one-bedroom units decreased this month by (-4.12%), to a new average cost of $1,665/month. The opposite is true in Edmonton, where average monthly rent prices for furnished one-bedroom units increased (+2.84%) to $1,461/month, while prices for unfurnished one-bedroom units dropped by (-1.24%) to $1,302/month
Rental rates stabilize in both Calgary & Edmonton
Calgary’s city-wide average monthly rent price for an unfurnished one-bedroom unit increased by just $5 this June, bringing the rate for an unfurnished, one-bedroom unit to $1,537/month. Edmonton’s rental rates for an unfurnished one-bedroom unit decreased by only $16, bringing Edmonton’s average monthly rent price for an unfurnished one-bedroom unit to $1,302 per month. This marks a decrease of just $9 in the last six months.
Calgary City Centre price swings in
Among all Calgary quadrants, City Centre stood out in June with the most pronounced rental price fluctuations, posting the sharpest decline in unfurnished one-bedroom rents (-1.14%) and the steepest increase in furnished one-bedroom rates (+5.21%).
