Giving Your Notice to Move-Out

Planning for your eventual move-out is essential, and we appreciate your cooperation in making the process as smooth as possible. Here are the guidelines regarding giving notice:

  1. Month-to-Month Lease

    • If you are on a month-to-month lease, you are required to provide a 30-day notice before the next rent due date.
  2. Fixed-Term Lease

    • If you are on a fixed-term lease, we kindly request that you inform us as early as possible about your intention to move out. This early notice allows us to plan accordingly.

By adhering to these notice periods, you help us manage the transition effectively and ensure a seamless handover of the property. If you have any questions or need further assistance regarding the move-out process, please reach out to our office. We are here to facilitate a positive and well-coordinated experience for both parties.

Before Giving your Notice

Before giving notice to move out, it's important to follow these steps:

  1. Check Lease Term

    • Review your rental/lease agreement to determine when the lease term ends. Leases are binding agreements for a set period, and you may still be obligated to the lease.
  2. Discuss Options if Still Committed to Lease

    • If you need to move but are still committed to a lease period, contact our office to discuss available options.
  3. Provide Written Notice

    • Notices must be in writing. The day we receive the notice is considered the notice date. Ensure that the notice is filled out accurately, and if sending a scanned copy, confirm receipt with our office.
  4. Notice Submission

    • We DO NOT accept notices by email due to the lack of a signature. However, you may send us an email attach a scanned copy of the signed notice. If you haven't received confirmation of receipt, contact our office.
  5. Lease Break Procedures

    • If you need to move before the lease period ends, follow the lease-break procedures outlined in your rental agreement. Be aware of associated fees and the re-rental process.

    • Lease Break Consequences

      • If you do not follow the specified process, you will be responsible for the property and rent payments until either the end of the lease or until the unit is re-rented.

      • Homeowner and property management costs related to releasing the unit after a breach of contract will also be your responsibility.

      • Following the proper procedures may entitle you to a refund of your security deposit and a positive rental reference. Failing to adhere to the lease break policy may result in financial consequences, a negative reference, and potential legal action.

It's crucial to handle the notice process carefully and in accordance with the terms outlined in your rental agreement to ensure a smooth transition and avoid any unnecessary financial or legal complications. If you have questions or need clarification, reach out to our office for assistance.
