Neighbourhood
Located in the Big Lake district of northwest Edmonton, the neighbourhood of Hawks Ridge is bounded by Big Lake to the north, the Keswick neighbourhood to the south, the east by 215 Street (Winterburn Road), and 231 Street to the west. Hawks Ridge is being developed according to the Hawks Ridge Neighbourhood Structure Plan, which was adopted in 2010 and last amended in 2014. The area is planned to include primarily single-family residential housing, although some medium-density housing will be available as well. Residents will be served by a school/park site within the community. Due to its proximity to Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park and Big Lake, Hawks Ridge was designed to integrate the natural landscape with the community plan. This is why the focal point of the neighbourhood will be a large green space with several stormwater ponds. There is also a planned environmental reserve in the northernmost section of the community. Hawks Ridge’s close proximity to Yellowhead Trail and Anthony Henday Drive provides easy access to amenities in west Edmonton and St. Albert.
